"Health equity" generally refers to individuals achieving their highest level of health through the elimination of disparities in health and health care. President Biden issued a series of executive orders focusing on advancing health equity and federal agencies, including CMS, have been directed to create Equity Action Plans. This panel will discuss and analyze various provider requirements and metrics that have been developed and are in the process of being developed to address health care disparities, including in the field of clinical research, as well as with respect to ACOs, Medicare Advantage programs, hospitals and rural providers.
