CMS Notifying Certain Medicare Beneficiaries of Subcontractor Data Breach

The personally identifiable information of as many as 254,000 Medicare beneficiaries may have been compromised in a data breach involving Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) subcontractor Healthcare Management Solutions, LLC (HMS), the agency said in a December 14 statement.
