Medicare Advantage Provider to Pay $2.25 Million to Resolve Allegations of Inflated Plan Bids

Two subsidiaries of Pennsylvania-based Independence Blue Cross, LLC (IBC) agreed to pay $2.25 million to settle allegations they violated the False Claims Act by submitting inflated Medicare Advantage plan bids to the federal government, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania William M. McSwain announced September 3.
