Pharmaceutical Manufacturer Won’t Risk Sanctions with Travel, Lodging Assistance for Patients Prescribed One-Time Gene Therapy, OIG Says

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) will not impose administrative sanctions in connection with a pharmaceutical company’s proposal to provide financial assistance for travel, lodging, and other expenses to certain patients with a rare, inherited retinal disease who are prescribed its gene therapy, according to an advisory opinion posted July 8.
