U.S. Court in Michigan Tosses Anesthesiologists’ Antitrust Action Against Insurer

The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan rejected September 14 an anesthesiology practice group’s antitrust claim against the largest health insurer in Michigan, alleging it used its dominant position to depress reimbursement rates and coerce hospitals to refuse to deal with out-of-network providers.
