CMS Proposed Rule Would Eliminate Lag Between FDA Approval of Breakthrough Devices and Medicare Coverage

Breakthrough medical devices would be covered by Medicare on the same day they receive Food and Drug Administration (FDA) market authorization under a proposed rule (85 Fed. Reg. 54327) the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued August 31.
