About the Program
Attending AHLA's Annual Meeting and In-House Counsel Program will provide you with the most current information and analysis on a myriad of legal issues facing the health care industry in thoughtful, practical, solution-oriented sessions. Whether it’s through attending a session on a new topic, diving deeper into your expertise, or networking with colleagues, you will gain new insight in the world of health law.
We are pleased to announce that attendees will have the opportunity to learn from Gurpreet Dhaliwal, MD, who is a is a clinician-educator and Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Dhaliwal is an expert on how doctors think—how they make diagnoses, how they develop diagnostic expertise, and what motivates them to improve their practice and the systems in which they work—as well as on physician leadership, physician engagement, the future of medicine, and the need for physicians to engage in high-value care and as he addresses these topics, he considers how they intersect with health equity.
Additionally, S. Craig Holden, Robert H. Homchick, and Kristen Rosati will take attendees through the journey of key developments over the past year - the highlights and low-lights. It's a must see!
Breakout sessions cover the complex intersection of the areas of health law, including legal ethics and professional development. Sessions include:
- Contracting Beyond Traditional Health Care Settings: Model for Virtual Care First (V1C) Payer/Provider Contracts

The agenda has substantive programming on key legal issues that you have come to expect from this meeting. It is also filled with sessions that will help attorneys prepare as we transition from the pandemic into a new normal, including those focused on professional development and improving diversity, equity and inclusion in the health law and health care field. All of that combined with in-person networking and summer in Chicago – you won’t want to miss it!" - Priya Bathija, Planning Committee Member
