Some Members Of Congress Introduce Legislation That Would Require Federal Government To Share Coronavirus Data That Can Be Broken Down By Race

The AP (4/14, Morrison) reports some Democratic members of Congress “introduced legislation to compel federal health officials to post data daily that breaks down” coronavirus “cases and deaths by race and ethnicity.” Supporters of the legislation “say the demographic data is needed to address any disparities in the national response to the coronavirus outbreak, which is taking a disproportionate toll on African Americans and other nonwhite populations.”
