  • October 02, 2020

USA Today (10/1, Sestito) reports a new California law requires skilled nursing facilities “to have a full-time staff member, or the equivalent, dedicated to infection prevention and control,” and to report within 24 hours each disease-related death to the California Department of Public Health, which will provide weekly updates on the number of deaths. Additionally, during a declared emergency, facilities have to “notify residents and family members about cases of communicable diseases.”
