CMS Announces New Start Date for Emergency Ambulance Services Payment Model

The first performance period for a new payment model for emergency ambulance services that offers Medicare reimbursement even when beneficiaries aren't taken to a hospital emergency department will get begin January 1, 2021, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced this week.
