Private Plans Pay Substantially More for Hospital Care Than Medicare, RAND Reports

Employers and private insurers paid 224% of what Medicare would have paid for the same hospital inpatient and outpatient services at the same facilities in 2020, according to a report from the RAND Corp. released this week.
