CMS to Phase in Steep Medicare Payment Cuts for Home Health Agencies

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) decided not to finalize a sizeable Medicare payment reduction for home health agencies (HHAs) in calendar year (CY) 2023 as proposed. Instead, under a final rule (87 Fed. Reg. ) released October 31, HHAs will see a slight increase in Medicare payments of 0.7% in the aggregate, or $125 million overall, according to a fact sheet.
