U.S. Court in D.C. Says Hospital Can’t Join Group DSH Appeal

The U.S. District Court for the District of DC affirmed July 20 the Provider Reimbursement Review Board’s (PRRB’s) finding that it lacked jurisdiction over a hospital’s appeal of its Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) calculation. Because the hospital’s appeal is limited to issues the intermediary considered and actually revised, it couldn’t join in a group appeal challenging a different aspect of the calculation, the court said.
