Florida Appeals Court Says Lawsuit over Surgical Table Collapse Is Ordinary Negligence Not Malpractice Claim

A patient’s claim for injuries sustained when a surgical table collapsed does not have to meet filing requirements for a medical malpractice suit under state law, a Florida appeals court held January 26. Instead, the Florida District Court of Appeal said the suit was properly categorized as an ordinary negligence claim.
