Administration’s Budget Proposal Looks to Extend Medicare Solvency with Tax Increases, Lower Drug Spending

President Biden released March 9 the administration’s budget request for fiscal year (FY) 2024 that includes a plan for extending Medicare’s solvency by more than two decades through a combination of tax increases on high-income earners and lowering program spending on prescription drugs.
