D.C. Circuit Invalidates 2016 Rule on PAMA Reimbursements

The D.C. Circuit July 15 reversed the lower court’s dismissal for mootness of a challenge to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) regulation implementing the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 (PAMA), which was aimed at aligning Medicare payments for clinical diagnostic laboratory tests with what private payers pay for those tests.
