National Health Spending Growth Slows to 4.2% in 2021 as Federal Outlays for COVID Decline

The growth in national health spending slowed significantly in 2021 to 4.2% after climbing by 9.7% in 2020, according to a report from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Office of the Actuary issued March 29.
