OCR Offers Guidance for HIPAA-Compliant Use of Audio-Only Telehealth

The Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued guidance June 13 to help clarify how covered health care providers and health plans can continue to provide audio-only telehealth services while remaining compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules after pandemic-related flexibilities lapse.
