The Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (OCRs) issued guidance September 30 to clarify when the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rules applies to COVID-19 vaccination disclosures in the workplace and other business settings.
