Continuing Resolution Fails to Avert Medicare Cuts

Hospital and other health care provider groups are urging Congress to block steep cuts to Medicare payments that are scheduled to go into effect next year. But a continuing resolution (H.R. 6119), which was cleared by the House and Senate on December 2 to avert a government shutdown, does not include relief from the looming reductions. H.R. 6119 funds the government through February 18.
