OIG: Few Medicare Beneficiaries Receiving Medication to Treat Opioid Use Disorder

Although around 1 million Medicare beneficiaries were diagnosed with opioid use disorder in 2020, less than 16% received medication-assisted treatment (MAT) drugs, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in a December 16 report.
