New Medicaid Guidance Allows Direct Payment for Specialty Consultations

State Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Programs (CHIP) can now make direct payments to specialists who consult with a beneficiary’s primary care provider under new guidance the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) issued January 5.
