Texas Appeals Court Rejects False Imprisonment Claims Against Mental Health Providers

A Texas appeals court refused December 5 to revive false imprisonment, invasion of privacy, and assault and battery claims against Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS) and two of its subsidiaries brought by a patient who alleged he was involuntarily committed to a mental health facility for 17 days.
