Medicare Data Underscores COVID-19’s Significant Toll on Nursing Home Residents, OIG Reports

Forty-two percent of the roughly 3.1 million Medicare beneficiaries who resided in nursing homes in 2020 had or likely had COVID-19, according to Medicare claims data reviewed by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG).
