Gilead Reaches $97 Million Settlement of FCA Allegations Involving Patient Assistance Fund

Pharmaceutical manufacturer Gilead Sciences, Inc. agreed to pay $97 million to resolve allegations that it violated the False Claims Act by paying kickbacks to Medicare patients through a purportedly independent charitable foundation, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced September 23.
