Louisiana Prosthetic Supplier Will Pay $1.6 Million to Resolve Claims of Improper Medicare Billing

Shreveport Prosthetics, Inc. (SPI) agreed to pay $1.6 million, plus interest, to the federal government to resolve False Claims Act (FCA) allegations that improperly billed Medicare when its supplier number was deactivated and overcharged the program, Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana Alexander C. Van Hook announced September 10.
