U.S. Court in DC Rejects Hospitals’ Challenge to Uncompensated Care Estimates

Two hospitals were precluded by statute from challenging the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary’s calculation of their uncompensated care costs for determining their Medicare disproportionate share hospital (DSH) payment, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled January 7.
