U.S. Court in Pennsylvania Says Good Faith Admission to Hospital Dooms EMTALA Claims

A hospital’s duties under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) ended upon her good faith admission to the hospital as an inpatient, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania said March 9 in dismissing a plaintiff’s EMTALA stabilization claim.
