OIG Expands Previous Opinion Allowing Nonprofit to Provide Financial Help for MRIs

A nonprofit organization’s expanded arrangement to help financially needy patients with a particular disease still presents a sufficiently low risk of fraud and abuse, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion modifying OIG Advisory Opinion 15-14 (Dep’t of Health and Human Srvs. Office of Inspector Gen. Nov. 13, 2015).
