Sixth Circuit Nixes Whistleblower Action Against Hospitals Alleging Unnecessary Cardiac Procedures

The Sixth Circuit affirmed December 1 the dismissal of a whistleblower action under the False Claims Act (FCA) against several hospitals and a cardiologist who previously was under an integrity agreement (IA) as part of a settlement to resolve allegations he billed Medicare and Medicaid for medically unnecessary cardiac stent procedures.
