OIG Blesses Critical Access Hospital’s Proposed “Warranty” for Certain Joint Replacement Complications

A critical access hospital (CAH) won’t face administrative sanctions for providing essentially a “warranty” to a select group of patients experiencing a specific set of complications after undergoing certain joint replacement procedures, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General said in an advisory opinion posted September 15.
