GAO “Secret Shopper” Probe Uncovers Potentially Misleading Information on Coverage of ACA Exempt Plans

Some agents and brokers selling health insurance that don’t comply with the Affordable Care Act (ACA) may be misleading consumers about the plans’ coverage of pre-existing conditions, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) reported September 16 following a “secret shopper” investigation.
