U.S. Court in Illinois Tosses Patient Data Privacy Suit

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois September 4 dismissed a patient’s claims that data transferred from the hospital to Google pursuant to a research partnership violated the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) or breached the hospital’s agreement with the patient.
