U.S. Court in New Jersey Says Medical Groups Must Arbitrate Claims Against Insurer

The U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey said June 8 that medical group plaintiffs must arbitrate their claims against UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company even though they weren’t signatories to the in-network agreements at issue. The court refused to compel arbitration, however, against a UHIC affiliate company defendant, noting neither signed the arbitration agreement.
