OIG Blesses Device Manufacturer’s Proposal to Offer Product Discounts to Hospitals

A spinal implant manufacturer’s proposal to offer its products to hospitals at a reduced price if they agree to assume certain duties related to the products would not involve an improper payment to physicians, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted June 29.
