CMS Should Use CERT Data to Scrutinize “Error-Prone” Providers, OIG Says

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) should use data on improper Medicare fee-for-service payments to identify and focus on providers with higher error rates, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in a report posted January 19.
