FDA Finalizes Rule to Allow Over-the-Counter Sale of Hearing Aids

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) finalized August 17 a rule (87 Fed. Reg. 50698) aimed at injecting more competition into the market for hearing aids by allowing certain devices to be sold without a prescription.
