Pharmacy Agrees to Pay Civil Monetary Penalty for Alleged Controlled Substances Act Violations

Family Discount Pharmacy, Inc. (FDP) has agreed to pay a civil monetary penalty of $310,000 to resolve allegations that it violated the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) by filling prescriptions for opioids and other controlled substances that were not written for a legitimate medical purpose by practitioners acting in the usual course of their professional medical practices.
