HHS Extends Comment Period on Proposed HIPAA Privacy Rule Changes

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is extending the comment period to May 6 on a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) to modify provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule that may limit or discourage coordinated care and case management among health care providers, payers, and patients.
