OIG Allows Cash Incentive Program for Substance Use Disorder Treatment

A program that provides certain individuals access to digital contingency management (CM) and related tools to treat substance use disorders, which is funded by entities that could include individuals’ health care providers or suppliers, presents a minimal risk of fraud and abuse under the Anti-Kickback Statute, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted March 2.
