Regulated Entities Should Ensure Use of Online Tracking Technologies Complies with HIPAA, OCR Advises

Covered entities and business associates may be violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules if they share protected health information (PHI) with online tracking technology vendors, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) noted in a new bulletin released November 30.
