“Pharma Bro” Shkreli, Vyera Pharmaceuticals Reach $28 Million Settlement of Third-Party Payer Class Action

So-called “Pharma Bro” Martin Shkrelis and the company he founded, Vyera Pharmaceuticals, would pay up to $28 million under a preliminary settlement to resolve a class action brought by third-party payers alleging defendants jacked up the price for the life-saving drug Daraprim and then used a series of anticompetitive restrictions to block cheaper options from entering the market.
