HHS Issues Proposed HIPAA Changes to Ease Care Coordination

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office for Civil Rights (OCR) issued December 10 a proposed rule seeking comments on modifying provisions of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule that may limit or discourage coordinated care and case management among health care providers, payers, and patients.
