OCR HIPAA Right of Access Push Continues with Ninth Settlement

The Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights’ (OCR) enforcement initiative to help ensure patients are receiving timely access to their medical records continues with the announcement that NY Spine Medicine agreed to pay $100,000 to settle a potential violation of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Privacy Rule.
