Iowa High Court Dismisses Physician’s Defamation Claims for NPDB Report

The Supreme Court of Iowa June 4 granted a hospital summary judgment on a physician’s defamation claim for reports made by hospital employees to the Iowa Board of Medicine (IBM) and the National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) after a hospital investigation revealed excessive prescribing of opioids.
