OIG: Drug Maker May Furnish Financial Assistance to Needy Patients to Facilitate Access to Treatment

The Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted February 23 that it would not impose sanctions on a drug manufacturer that proposed to offer financial assistance for transportation, lodging, and meals to financially needy pediatric patients and their caregiver(s) for treatment with the company's drug.
