Tech Vendors Offer Free, Discounted Support to Help Implement Medicaid Work Requirements

  • January 30, 2026

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) touted January 29 voluntarily commitments from ten health technology companies to help states implement new community engagement requirements in their Medicaid systems.

According to CMS, the companies, which have existing Medicaid contracts, plan to offer states more than $600 million in no-cost and discounted technology products and services to support implementation as well as broader upgrades to Medicaid systems.

The reconciliation measure enacted last summer calls for significant changes to Medicaid eligibility and financing, including that states implement work and community engagement requirements for certain adults enrolled in the program. States must launch the new requirements by January 1, 2027, which requires planning and implementing system, policy, and operational changes now, CMS has said.

“We applaud vendors for their voluntary commitments and discounting their solutions, providing states with additional options as they plan their implementation and modernize their Medicaid systems,” said Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services Director Dan Brillman.
