OIG Blesses Expansion of Web-based Retailer’s Discount Programs to Medicaid Enrollees

A web-based retailer that sells a range of consumer goods and services, including prescription drugs through a pharmacy subsidiary, may expand eligibility for its discount programs for low-income individuals to include Medicaid enrollees without triggering administrative sanctions, the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) said in an advisory opinion posted January 19.
