Omnicare to Pay $15.3 Million to Resolve Alleged Mishandling of Opioids

CVS Health subsidiary Omnicare, Inc. agreed to pay a $15.3 million civil penalty to resolve allegations it violated the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) by allowing opioids and other controlled substances to be dispensed without a valid prescription, U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Nicola t. Hanna announced May 13.
