OIG Questions $2.6 Billion in Medicare Advantage Risk-Adjusted Payments

A new Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General report released this week underscored concerns that some Medicare Advantage Organizations (MAOs) may be using health risk assessments (HRAs) to improperly boost their risk-adjusted payments rather than to improve care as intended.
